Prof. Udaya Kumar Susarla graduated in Electronics & Communication Engineering from University College of Engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad and received Master of Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering with specialization in "Digital Systems", from University College of Engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India and Master of Technology (Hons.), Information Engineering, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand. He has received his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering, from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. His area of research being Block Ciphers in Cryptography.

Won the accolades from the compatriots and teaching fraternity for his distinguished administrative capabilities also winning laurels of the students for his excellent pedagogical skills is worth mentioning, while holding pivotal positions at various esteemed institutions across AP. Prof. Udaya Kumar Susarla was Conferred with best teacher award for four years at SNIST
