A Senior Member, IEEE (08051450) received the UG degree: B.Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, India (SVU) in 1984, the PG degree M.Tech (Electronic Instrumentation) from the erstwhile Regional Engg College (REC)/ known currently as: National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India (NITW), in 1989 and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) awarded from the erstwhile University of Roorkee (UOR)/ known currently as: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee India (IITR), in 1998.
Not only he served at institutes of good repute such as: SVU for a semester (Even sem. of academic year (AY) 1985-1986); REC/NITW for 20+ AYs; BITS Pilani Dubai Campus, Dubai, UAE (BPDC) for about 10+ AYs.; Al Ghurair University Dubai UAE (AGU) for a year (2002); University of Dubai, Dubai, UAE (UD) during Feb.2019-Feb.2021; SR University, Warangal during Dec.2021-May 2024 but also served HEIs of local/ regional repute in India such as: Global College of Engg. & Technology (GCET) Kadapa India from Jul.2014 to Dec.2016 and Geethanjali College of Engg. & Tech. (GCET) Cheryal Hyderabad, India. Augmented to his rich research and teaching experience having served in the routine faculty positions in the departments: EEE/ECE/EIE of the Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) named above, he held several significant leadership positions at HEIs for about 25+ years; Some titles of the leadership positions he held are, as below, but not limited to: Coordinator Campus LAN, Coordinator International academic & research collaborations, Dean Academics, Dean Research and Consultancy, Dean Research and Development, Institutional Effectiveness Officer, Dy. Director, Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness, Cross-Campus Team Leader for Branding BITS, Principal. In addition to the above he served in a no. of confidential roles assigned by the institute from time to time such as those in Examination Section, Recruitment of faculty & staff, institution’s internal research, Member Governing Body, University senate member, Chairman College Academic Council, Research Board Member etc., to name a few.
Currently, while at since the Jun.2024 as: the Principal, Maturi Venkata Subba Rao (MVSR) Engineering College, Nadergul, Badangpet, Hyd 501510; a prestigious accolade of his being an Adjunct Professor at the Department of ECE (since March 2023) at a prestigious Centrally Funded Govt. of India Institute (CFGI) of the national importance: the Indian Institute of Information Technology – Design and Manufacturing, Kurnool, India (IIITDM) in not only supporting through routine teaching of UG & PG courses/subjects also serving their Board of Studies in a consulting role especially for their academic research and industry collaborations. Since Aug. 2024, as Principal, MVSR College of Engg, he is currently also serving as a member, PGCET 2024 Admissions Committee of the Telangana Government’s state Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) representing autonomous private engineering colleges of the region.
To his credit he has more than 20 high quality research contributions in journals/ proceedings of conferences of national/ international repute various conferences, 4 book chapters with publishers of international repute, completed 4 mega projects (1 Govt. and 3+ private worth few crores), offered support to more than 5 research scholars that span areas of current research relevance, from time to time since 1995 till date especially in domains that include: Bio-medical Instrumentation and Informatics, Artificial Neural Networks, applications of machine learning to Internet of Things (IoT) and Data Science, Genetic Algorithms and so on.
Dr. Vijaya Gunturu has significant contributions since 1989 to the international professional bodies such as the world’s largest professional body in Engineering and Technology: the IEEE, USA. He served as the counselor of Student Branch of IEEE at both REC/NIT Warangal (for 18+ yrs.) and also at BPDC, UAE (for 7+ yrs.), actively facilitating establishment of more than 10 IEEE Student Branches both in Telangana Region of India during 2000s and also while serving abroad at UAE while serving as the IEEE UAE Section’s Chairman Chapter Development. He also served as the Publication Chair of 2 prestigious IEEE international conference while serving as an IEEE Volunteer at UAE Section of IEEE with the distinction 100% technical contributions selected by the team lead by him were successfully published during the years 2011, 2012 in a record time w/o changes whatsoever by IEEE Xplore – a worldwide technical contributions’ repository’s world standard blind review process. He is also a Life Member of: IETE and ISTE.
