The "Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat" Programme,aims to dynamically develop interaction between people of diverse and varied cultures living in different States and UT's in India, with the aim of encouraging better mutual understanding amongst them. As per the programme, every year, each State/UT would be paired with another State/UT in India for mutual interaction between the people. It is envisioned through this exchange, that the acquaintance of the language, culture, traditions and practices of different states will result in an enriched bonding between one another, thereby boosting the unity & integrity of India. The States & UTs are to start and engage in a mission to enrich their cultural, academic and economic ties by getting into an extensive array of mutual engagements with the paired States/UTs comprising the areas of music, drama, cuisine, language, history, tourism and other forms of exchange between the people.
The broad objectives of the initiative are as follows -
i. To CELEBRATE the Unity in Diversity of our Nation and to maintain and strengthen the fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between the people of our Country;
ii. To PROMOTE the spirit of national integration through a deep and structured engagement between all Indian States and Union Territories through a year-long planned engagement between States;
iii. To SHOWCASE the rich heritage and culture, customs and traditions of either State for enabling people to understand and appreciate the diversity that is India, thus fostering a sense of common identity
iv. TO ESTABLISH long-term engagements and,
v. TO CREATE an environment which promotes learning between States by sharing best practices and experiences.
Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Campaign initiated by AICTE promotes cultural exchange between states. Under this Telangana state is paired with Haryana state. As part of this campaign, every institute should conduct several activities throughout the year to create awareness and to know more about the paired state. Maturi Venkata Subba Rao college is paired with Manav Rachna Institute of International studies and Research(MRIISR), Ghaziabad, Haryana. As a part of EBSB students of our college are made to go through important aspects of Haryana state and its culture and fulfill the dream of "Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat".
General Activities of EBSB
- EBSB Club
There will be an EBSB Club whose aim would be to propagate language, culture of the Haryana State through various activities. It will meet one day in a month.
- EBSB Day
There shall be ten EBSB days per year at one day per every month depicting the culture of the Haryana State. During these days, there shall be cultural demonstrations of the paired States.
- Language Learning and Language Quiz
Students will learn the Haryana state language and take part in online quiz competition to be conducted by the EBSB Team.
- Drawing/ Poster making/ Display boards showcasing cultural heritage/costumes/ crops/ sports etc of paired state.
- Awareness programs/Pledge on Swachh Bharath/Save Water/ Say No to Plastic etc.
